Description

This two-day impressionistic landscape workshop is designed to encourage painters to move beyond realism and explore a more expressive and intuitive approach to painting.  Sharon has worked in Acrylic, Oil, Gouache and Pastel and welcomes artists in all these mediums.

Focusing on light, colour, and mood, participants will learn how to capture the essence and movement of the landscape through brushwork and simplification. Throughout the workshop, we will explore harmonious colour mixing, limited palettes, colour stories, value relationships, contrast, and compositional design.

Emphasis will be placed on simplifying the landscape into strong shapes and value patterns while developing confident, expressive brushwork that brings vitality and atmosphere to the painting. Working from a supplied reference, participants will progress from thumbnail sketches, value studies and colour stories through to a finished impressionistic landscape painting, gaining a deeper understanding of how light and colour work together to create depth, harmony, and emotion.

The workshop will include demonstrations, and guided exercises. Sharon will offer one-on one guidance and personalized feedback throughout the two days, in a relaxed, and creative environment.
