Lori Strom

Originally from Nelson, BC, Lori moved to Alberta in 1990 when she took a transfer with her job. After the initial move to Edmonton, and another move a year and a half later, she decided to switch things up and purchased a small Custom Framing & Art business in Lethbridge (which she sold after 23 years in 2016). She found that selling and framing the works of other Artists kept her creativity alive, but she didn’t have much time for her own painting.

Lori predominantly works in Acrylics but was originally trained in oils. She has worked in watercolour, pencil crayon, charcoal and pastels and has explored many styles, including pointillism, but always seems to find her way back to realism. Her dream had always been to visit Monet’s Garden in Giverny France and explore the place where the World’s most famous Impressionist found his inspiration. In June 2019 that trip became a reality, and it didn’t disappoint. She currently resides in Red Deer, AB with her Boyfriend Fred. Recently retired, she has plans to travel and to paint even more prolifically.

Lori has been a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists since 2018 and was recently awarded Associate Status. She has shown her work regularly at the Federation Gallery and at several Chapter shows in the Okanagan area of B.C. where she resided for 5 years.
