My work centers on my lifelong love of horses, my portfolio does also include a variety of paintings of dogs, cats, people, still-lifes & landscapes. Soft pastels are my “go to” medium, but I also enjoy creating paintings in acrylics, graphite, oil and scratchboard. I am proud of my artwork that has been recognized or received awards over the years in regional, national and global art competitions.
I am a Signature Member of Pastel Artists Canada and an active member of Federation of Canadian Artists National and Calgary Chapter.
I plan to continue to develop my realism style, playing with bold colour and striving to create work that has been described as “touchable” and “alive”. The biggest compliment I receive from my customers is tears of joy when they see their beloved pet come to life once again in their commissioned portrait.
I had been involved in the horse racing industry from British Columbia to Ontario, over the better part of my life. I am now employed in the printing/graphics industry as a graphic designer.
When not in my studio, I enjoy long walks with our 2 dogs, Sparky and Dolly, exploring the parks and paths in Airdrie.
For artistic inspiration, I enjoy photographing the beautiful scenery when on day trips with my husband in and around the Foothills, Mountains and prairies of Southern Alberta.
