Victoria Zyluk

Victoria Zyluk is a Calgary-based artist whose work evokes the quiet grace of nature and the vibrant pulse of imagination. Raised on a family farm, she developed an early and enduring connection to the land—its textures, rhythms, and stories—which continue to shape her artistic vision. Her landscapes and abstract impressionist pieces reflect a deep reverence for the natural world and a curiosity for the unseen possibilities within it. With nearly four decades of experience as an educator across Canada and the Northwest Territories, Victoria has woven art into the fabric of learning. She has taught children, adults, and fellow educators, presenting at institutions such as the Banff Centre and leading continuing education courses. Her commitment to art education is matched by her dedication to community, having served on arts councils and coordinated exhibitions that celebrate both emerging and established talent.

Victoria’s artistic style—Intuitive Abstract Impressionism—is expressed through a wide range of media including watercolour, acrylic, charcoal, ink, and mixed media. Texture plays a central role in her compositions, inviting viewers to explore layers of meaning and emotion. Her work has been featured in numerous galleries and exhibitions, including the prestigious Calgary Stampede Art Auction, and she currently serves as the Art Exhibition Coordinator for the Bow Valley Ranche Historical Society.

Travel has been a profound influence on Victoria’s practice. Her journeys through Europe, North America, and island cultures have infused her palette with global nuance and expanded her thematic range. Each canvas she creates is a conversation between memory, movement, and the question she poses to herself and her audience: “What if…?” Victoria Zyluk’s art is not just a reflection—it’s an invitation. An invitation to wonder, to feel, and to imagine a world blooming with possibility!
