Stacey Barge

Stacey Barge is a colour pencil artist and oil paint artist from Calgary, Alberta, whose work reflects how she sees the world and invites viewers to connect with their own thoughts and emotions. Living with both autism and ADHD, she embraces the way her unique perspective shapes her art, often capturing subtle details and feelings that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Her creative journey has been shaped by both art and science. Stacey first studied graphic design at SAIT in 1990, later returning to earn a certificate in Graphic Arts from the University of Calgary as the digital world rapidly evolved. For many years, she pursued a successful career as a Registered Veterinary Technologist, before retiring to follow her true calling in art. This blend of precision, patience, and creativity informs her practice today.

Stacey’s work has received recognition on both local and international levels. She was named Artist of the Month with Camelback Gallery in December 2023, and her pieces have been featured in Color magazine (May 2024), Ann Kullberg’s Colormagazine, and other notable publications. She is also a multiple award-winner at the Calgary Stampede Exhibitions, earning first, second, and third-place ribbons across both the 2024 and 2025 events. Stacey is a full artist member of Route22 Gallery in Cochrane, Alberta, and a new active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.

When not creating, Stacey can be found hiking, backpacking, or paddle boarding in the Canadian backcountry. She lives with her husband, two golden retrievers, and two cats, all of whom bring daily inspiration and joy to her life.
