Natalie was born in Saskatchewan and has been a Calgarian since 1966. She was introduced to the "joys of art" by artists Wynona Mulcaster and Otto Rogers in 1960-61 at the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon).

She received her B.Ed. degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1970 and a B.F.A. from the University of Calgary in 1979.

Over the past 40 years she has worked, studied and taught in a variety of disciplines, including drawing, printmaking, black and white photography, sculpture and painting in acrylics, watercolour and oils.

Today she is mainly a "Process painter" and enjoys incorporating found materials into her work.

"My mixed media art pieces are an outer expression of my inner self.  I work experimentally, through process, allowing each work to evolve."

Recently Natalie has developed highly-textured mixed-media paintings in which she transforms familiar discards, such as "used" teabags and dried rose petals into decorative and somewhat playful investigations of form. Natalie explores the concept of personal identity through the examination of rituals and ceremonies found in past and present cultures.

Her work hangs in private collections in Canada and the US.

In August of 2003, Natalie was a guest artist at the Revolution Gallery in Kingston, Jamaica  where she had a solo show. In March of 2004 she was invited to be a part of an art show, Strange Relations at 20/20 Gallery in New York City. Natalie is an active member of the ASA and the FCA.
