Jonathan was born and raised in Hong Kong and received his formal Art training at the University of Taiwan. He came to Canada in the 1970’s to pursue his education.

He attended the University of Manitoba, where he majored in Interior Design as well as receiving further Art training within the Faculty of Fine Arts. After graduating with a Bachelor of Interior Design, he practiced as a Commercial Interior Designer in Toronto for many years, while at the same time continuing his artwork.

In 1981, Jonathan moved to Calgary and has since resided there with his wife and children. He is an active member of both The Multi Vision Artists Society, the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Leighton Art Centre.
